Brandt Snedeker
Brandt Snedeker has decided to join Ryuji Imada to help raise relief funds for the people of Japan affected by last week's devastating earthquake and tsunami. Snedeker will donate $500 per birdie this week as he competes in the Transitions Championship.
Bridgestone Golf, a major sports business in Japan and already a supporter of the relief effort, will also make a donation based upon Snedeker's totals.
Snedeker is currently tied for 11th through two rounds at the Copperhead Course. He has made eight birdies and an eagle, and trails leaders Chris Couch and Garrett Willis by three strokes.
"Ryuji started this and I really thought it was a great idea," Snedeker said. "He is a good friend of mine and I wanted to help. What the people of Japan are going through is awful and I am really lucky to have a partner like Bridgestone Golf join in supporting the relief effort."
"We have many employees and their families that were affected by the tsunami," said Dan Murphy, president of Bridgestone Golf. "We are grateful and proud that one of our TOUR staff players is stepping up and helping the people of Japan in his own way. Brandt is one of the most caring people in the sport and we are happy to contribute on his behalf."
All funds will go to American Red Cross-Japanese Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund.
