FORE Ireland - About Us

For the past eighteen months FORE Ireland has been a support channel for a number of Irish professional golfers, assisting them in the chase for a European Tour Card, mentoring them along their solitary path. During that time all the players improved their results dramatically, albeit they fell short at the latter hurdles of Stage 2 of European Tour School.

In the Irish Order of Merit the five players improved their 2010 rankings significantly, with David Mortimer winning the Irish PGA Championship and the Glenmuir PGA Championship at The Oxfordshire in the same season.

Part of the team includes 1995 Ryder Cup hero Philip Walton who is how preparing for the European Senior Tour at the end of 2011.

Background
In 2005 was Investor/Owner/Director of European Golf Brands, owners of Powakaddy International and Hill Billy Powered Golf Trolleys, negotiating sponsorship contract with the European Senior Tour for the consumer direct brand. The work included PR programmes with Gareth Edwards, Barry McGuigan and John Toshack with the creation of the HB Hall of Fame. Other names on the list were Ronnie Corbett; Tim Brooke-Taylor; and Irish legends, Ronnie Delany and Johnny Giles.

The deal for €37m management buyout of Kent-based manufacturer was a combined equity and debt buyout of (EGB), done by Dublin based BDO Simpson Xavier, who secured the funding, with Barclays Bank providing the loan financing, and a UK VC partner also in the deal.

In 2006 organised a celebratory lunch for Ian Woosnam three months after the Ryder Cup victory at the K Club with Alex Hay as MC, which Woosnam claimed was the most memorable event of his Ryder Cup victory.

In Formula 1 established the Human Performance Centre with Benetton F1 [now Renault F1] in 1999 which required a commercial acumen to ensure the appropriate marketing and promotion of centre to a global marketplace. The centre was the first such testing and training environment of its type in the sport.
