Barry Murphy of Apres Match
To lift the gloom FORE Ireland offer now one-to-one golf days with a group of Irish PGA Golfers, including former Ryder Cup Winner, Philip Walton and Barry Murphy of Après Match for 19th hole entertainment. The outings will also offer the opportunity to play golf with EURO’88 and USA’94 Republic of Ireland hero, Ray Houghton – another golfer lover and commentator.
Philip Walton, three times European Tour winner, explains
“Playing golf has become much more reasonable in Ireland now and like every business, golf courses have had to be more creative to stay active. Our view is that by combining golf, entertainment and business in a more practical and cost effective way, everyone can benefit and bring some fun back to life.”
Comedian Barry Murphy of Après Match and more recently the River Tenors is a fanatical golfer and plays as often as his schedule allows.
“It’s a great game and a good way to spend time with people. It can also do your head at any time! Despite the tough times people are still playing the game especially now with the great green fees on offer all over the country and golf equipment offers in the major stores. So not a bad time to even take up the game?”
Après Match appeared on RTE Sport during the 2010 World Cup.
"No better way to spend some with people and get to know them better. Since my playing days we have always been used to spending time on a golf course and I still really enjoy the competitive nature of the sport."
