Tara Delaney started playing golf at the age of 10 but says that she has been swinging a golf club her whole life. Her older sister, Karen, also plays international golf as an amateur and is a scratch player.
This season Tara has entered eighteen events and made the cut three times at UniCredit Ladies German Open, finishing 49th, 4C Wales Championship in 35th place and the Open de France Feminin in a share of 56th place
In 2008 Tara graduated from Kent State University in Ohio with a degree in Sports Management and now lives in Carlow, where she was born, and plays at the Carlow Golf Club - and is coached by Brendan McDaid. In December of that year Delaney earned her card at Q School for the 2009 season.
In the 2010 Henderson Money List Delaney is 122nd with €8,792.46 17.
Last year was Tara’s first year on the LET and she played in 16 events recording a season best tie for 15th at the Randstad Open de France Dames in Arras to finish 95th on the Henderson Money List with season's earnings of €14,138.75.
At the end of the year Tara returned to Final Stage Qualifying School and finished in 24th place, earning her full playing category for 2010.
