The USPGA Qualifying School Second Stage takes place this week and has Irish interest with Mark Murphy of Waterville nominated for TPC Craig Ranch at McKinney in Texas and Chris Devlin, from Ballymena, playing Hombre Golf Club in Panama City Beach in Florida. The events will be played between November 17th – 20th 2010.
Mark Murphy grew up in Waterville and first came into contact with golf by caddying for his Father, who played off four and was a regular in Sunday medal at Waterville Golf Club.

Career highlight for Chris Devlin from Ballymena was when he earned a spot alongside Tiger Woods and Padraig Harrington at the US Open in Torrey Pines in 2008 with the Northern Ireland native the unlikely standard-bearer that week following the failure of Rory McIlroy to qualify – and Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell not entering.
