The Legends Group will begin this month to evaluate some of the golf facilities in Ireland and Scotland with a view to long term management opportunities given the challenges facing the sector at the moment.
The Legends Group provide a full array of management services that include: Operational; Food & Beverage; Golf Course Maintenance; Inventory Control; Marketing; Purchasing; Golf and events packaging; Human Resources; Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable; Reservations Department and Real Estate Department.
Danny Young serves as President of Golf Operations and Chief Operating Officer and has extensive experience in the golf industry.
“We have become aware of some high profile named courses in Ireland that are challenged with some of them seeking the equivalent of Chapter 11 in the United States or worse,” said Danny Young. ”We are keen to speak with these golf facilities or their lenders to see where we can provide management solutions or expertise.”
“In time we believe for the right ones commercial options to purchase the assets can be delivered - but that is much more longer term. First though the facilities need to operate on a breakeven basis and that is where we have the proven expertise.”
Legends Golf has operated a portfolio of high-end golf courses many of which they originally conceived and all the courses are operated as semi-private resort facilities with a number of membership programmes in place.
All the courses cater to the high end Myrtle Beach market, with seven of the Golf Courses located in South Carolina and one in North Carolina
