Triple ‘Major’ champion Pádraig Harrington was the keynote speaker at the traditional Volvo China Open Championship Dinner, this year in celebration of the 17th staging of China’s national open golf championship, the 39-year-old Irishman giving a captivating address to 24 VIP guests in the Intercontinental Hotel.
“The Volvo China Open is a great national open,” said Harrington, adding, “There is something very special about a country’s open championship, because it will be around for many, many years to come and once your name is on the trophy, it is there for ever.”
He continued, “Volvo has been a great supporter of golf and its vision of making the Volvo China Open a really big event has to be applauded, and it is well on the way to achieving that goal.”
