Regional Qualifying was held at 16 clubs on Monday: Abridge, Berwick-upon-Tweed (Goswick), Clitheroe, Coventry, East Sussex National, Effingham, Enville, Ferndown, Gog Magog, Lindrick, Mere, Musselburgh, Old Fold Manor, Pannal, The London and County Louth in Ireland.
At County Louth there were qualifying places on offer for the top six and four Irish players made into those slots; Tim Rice, John Dignam, Patrick Devine and Cian McNamara. The other two places went to Sean McDonagh of Salisbury and South Wiltshire and Justin Brink of Mieminger Plateau in Austria.

As exempt players submit their entries for The 150th Anniversary Open Championship in 2010 their names will be added along with the names of those who qualify through International Final Qualifying and Local Final Qualifying.
A total of 156 players will compete at St Andrews with the leading 70, and those tied for 70th place after two rounds, qualifying for the final 36 holes.
Local Final Qualifying for the 2010 Open will be played on 29 June 2010 at Fairmont St Andrews, Kingsbarns Links, Ladybank and Scotscraig.
