What They Said - Lee Westwood

LEE WESTWOOD - THIRD ROUND 66 (-6) TOTAL 200 (-16)

"I played well. I hit the ball really well and made some good putts. It was a shame to bogey the last and every time you drop a shot on the last you feel disappointed but a 66 is a good score.

I opened up with three straight birdies and kept it going in the round. I like the golf course. It seems to be setting up nicely for me and I’ve been hitting it well. My iron play has been accurate and you can only have accurate iron play when you hit a lot of fairways.

I’m here to win a tournament and world rankings seem to take care of themselves.

It feels much better (using the conventional putter) because every decent putt seems to go in and that made me more comfortable. I’ve been in this position before and I’ll try not to get ahead of myself.

There have been a lot of people out here cheering for me and that acts as a positive for me. It is nice to have some support.

I’m used to playing in the heat. I’ve been coming to Asia for more than 20 years now. I’ve played in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Last year I won in Memphis in the United States and it was like this. You have to get used to it, try and reserve energy and try not to get to wound up when things don’t go your way. Drink lots of water, there’s no real secret to it, just common sense. Every body is feeling it, not just people from Europe."
