Westwood Delights in Weekend Challenge

Billy Foster and Lee Westwood

Lee Westwood was delighted to find himself in contention at a Major once again as he improved on his opening 72 with a five under 67 at Augusta National.

The World Number Two from England climbed into a share of seventh at The Masters Tournament, and is only five behind Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy going into the weekend.

"It was good," said Westwood, who had four birdies, one bogey and an eagle at the par five 15th.

"I sort of decided at the start of the day instead of Saturday being my moving day, I'd better make it Friday and try and get into contention. As well as Rory has played, you don't want to get too far behind.

"I'm just going to keep playing the way I'm playing, hopefully. I've played very solidly tee to green over the last couple days, and I guess five under is probably the worst score I could be on."
