Graeme McDowell at The Heritage
Graeme McDowell slipped further down the leaderboard in the final round of The Heritage event in South Carolina on Sunday, after a second successive round of 74, even though the Portrush player went out in a three-over 39 despite an early birdie.
McDowell's round stuttered with two bogeys and a double-bogey at the par-three seventh and he then completed the back nine in a level-par 36.
McDowell's best showing on the PGA Tour this year is his second place at the Tournament of Champions in January.
This week he joins other Major winners Mike Weir, 2003 Masters winner, Vijay Singh, who has won two PGA Championships, the Masters and the 2004 Zurich Classic of New Orleans; David Toms won both the PGA Championship and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in 2001 and Justin Leonard, winner of the 2007 Open Championship, for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans which is being played at TPC Louisiana.
Leonard has not played in New Orleans since 1997.
The purse for 2011 totals $6.4 million, the second largest regular season, non-major or WGC event on the PGA TOUR. The winner’s share is $1,152,000.
