Adam Scott Defends Texas Open Title

Adam Scott 2010 Winner

For most of the big names on the PGA Tour the week after the Masters is usually consigned to a a minimum seven day break after the exertions at Augusta, and so the field for this week’s Valero Texas Open reflects that reality.

That fact notwithstanding, there are several players in the mix this week that were busy on Sunday and they include Australian duo of Adam Scott and Geoff Ogilvy who play TPC San Antonio course, which was designed by Pete Dye/Greg Norman designed and opened before last year’s event.

It is not an easy course, ranking in the top 1/3 in difficulty on Tour last year, as it puts a premium on length.

Adam Scott is defending champion with a game perfectly suited for this TPC course, Bo Van Pelt, who had his best showing of the year in the Masters, Anthony Kim, who missed the cut at Augusta last week after two rounds of 73 losing out by a single stroke.

Scotland's Martin Laird, who finished 20th at the Masters is also due to play and continues to be one of the most underrated players on Tour with the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Invitational title already under his belt this season.
