Wilson Seals Lake Nona Tavistock Win

Lake Nona team

Ian Poulter impressed on the final day of the Tavistock Cup, but his efforts were overshadowed by Oliver Wilson, who fired the lowest round.

Wilson went round in seven-under, scooping the Payne Stewart Salver award for the lowest score of the day, as his Lake Nona team clinched the trophy at 43-under overall. Team Albany were 16 shots back, with Team Isleworth in third.

Poulter fared three shots worse than Wilson, but more encouragingly he showed signs that his game was stirring into life ahead of the Masters next month. There was just one bogey for Poulter, who looked all at sea at the WGC-Cadillac Championship over the weekend, spluttering to a 45th-place finish.

Tiger Woods failed to scale the heights of the first day, where he excelled alongside Arjun Atwal, but a three-under round supports suspicions that he is slowly finding his way back to his best.

Graeme McDowell finished at two-under alongside Ross Fisher, while Justin Rose was one-over.

Team Scores
