Anna Nordqvist
How would you describe your play in 2010?
It was pretty average. I had a couple of good tournaments and a couple of not so good tournaments. I learned a lot and think that is the most important thing at the end of the day.
What did you enter the off season looking to improve for 2011?
I wanted to improve a lot on my swing. I wanted to be more consistent. I started working with swing coach on technique at the beginning of last year and I just felt like I needed more time and patience doing it.
How did you fill the down time this winter?
I had a really great time off. I went to Salt Lake City and saw one of my trainers that works with the Canadian Luge team. I hung out with them for a couple of days. I went back to Sweden for two weeks and hung out with my family and friends, so I had a really good time.
When did you get back to golf and what have you been working on?
I got back into golf after New Year's. I've done a lot of short game because it is one of the most important parts of your game and it can always be a little bit rusty in the beginning of the year. I've also done a lot of technique stuff with my coaches.
What is the best part of your game right now? And what still needs improvement?
I feel my short game has gotten a lot better. My putting is more where I want it and I feel I still need to work on my wedges. It's a work in progress but I'm very excited about it.
What are your goals for 2011?
I want to make the European Solheim Cup team and give the Americans a big match on European soil. That would be a big highlight of my career. I also just want to get back to being consistent and get a couple of good finishes in there.
How often will Solheim Cup points be on your mind?
You can't really think about it week after week. If you play well then you'll be there but it's nothing you can focus on week in and week out. I'm just going to try to do the best I can and do my part and hopefully it's good enough.
Fitness is a big part of your game…how have you worked out this off season?
I started working with Kai Fusser a year ago. I like having more routines and I like playing Tennis. It's a big part of my game and I just work on my overall fitness.
Tell us about your new club deal. What will we see in your bag?
Cobra is in my bag this year. I've expanded my relationship with PUMA Golf and Cobra Golf. I can't tell you how excited I am about it. I'm putting new irons, driver, and woods in my bag and it's been a really fun journey so far.
