A long day at the Waste Management Phoenix Open on Saturday ended at 6 p.m. (8 p.m. ET) when the third round was halted by darkness just 75 minutes after it began.
The lead group on each nine was on its sixth hole of the day while the last group to tee off was on its first. Play will resume at 10:30 a.m. ET (8:30 a.m. local) on Sunday at TPC Scottsdale, where temperatures are expected to reach 70.
Ryan Moore was the only player to complete his sixth hole, making a water-logged bogey on the par-5 15th, while Davis Love III and Vijay Singh will face par putts of 4 and 5 feet, respectively, on their first holes when they return.
There are five groups who have yet to begin their third rounds on the front nine and four still to tee off on the back. The leaders – Tommy Gainey (14 under), Mark Wilson (13 under) and Bill Haas (12 under) – will tee off on No. 10 at 11:06 a.m. ET (9:06 a.m. local).
Players will remain in the same groups for the fourth round which will begin as soon as possible after the third concludes.
