Harrington Not in a Panic Yet

Padraig Harrington

Padraig Harrington planned the start of his PGA Tour season to include three consecutive events on the West Coast of the USA the last of which was the WGC-Accenture Match Play in Marana, Arizona, this week all part of his build up to the 2011 Masters.

So far however it has been memorable for the wrong reasons as he was disqualified in Abu Dhabi in his first event of the year after signing for an incorrect score, finished the Volvo Golf Champions the following in 58th place.

On the PGA Tour so far there have only been glimpses of form on the opening days of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am where the Dubliner finished in 63th place. Again at the Riviera Country Club in the Northern Trust Open Harrington opened with a promising 68 only to falter a little with firher rounds of 71, 75. 72 to finish in 55th place.
This week it was a first round defeat to Geoff Ogilvy at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship on Wednesday when Harrington lost 4 and 3.

Down to 35th in the world rankings from a high of third, following his 2008 US PGA victory, Harrington is convinced that it is only a matter of time before results turn good.

"I've no concerns. It's all good. Very good actually. Results? Okay, they haven't been good so far, but I have only played a few events," he said. " I just need to stay patient and let it happen. Everything is in good stead."
