Justin and Amanda Leonard
Who knows the PGA TOUR pros better than their significant others?
No, we're not talking about caddies but the PGA TOUR wives, who play such an important support role as their husbands grind out a living each week. Amanda Leonard has provided 18 things about Justin.
"Justin and I met as I was walking back to my condo one night after having dinner with a friend. He was walking out his front door at the exact time I was walking past it, and a mutual friend who was with Justin introduced us. I had moved in one month earlier and our paths had not crossed until that night. A few weeks went by and we "bumped" into each other again in the garage and he helped me carry a bunch of plants I had just bought into my house. One month later I saw him again and after chatting for a few minutes, he asked me out on a date. It didn't take long for us to realize we shared something very special. In August of 2001 he proposed to me on a hike in Telluride, Colo. We were married Feb. 2, 2002.
He's deathly afraid of oceans and lakes and thinks he has a fear of heights, but isn't sure :)
He once ran 15 miles after a competitive round of golf as he trained for the Dallas White Rock marathon.
He has trouble setting a project down once he's started it.
He enjoys the building process and says he would have been an architect if he didn't play golf.
He loves to quote movies -- accents and all! His favorite actor is Will Ferrell.
He is very quiet and reserved on the golf course, but hysterically funny with family and good friends.
Every Friday night is family movie night -- Justin bakes the cookies -- and every Saturday night he takes me on a date!
The last thing he does before bed is read the Bible. He's reading it for the second time right now.
You won't find anyone more disciplined, patient or devoted to his family. He also has nerves of steel.
He's like a little kid at Christmas every time we step foot in Telluride, Colo. Being an advanced skier, he once got a lesson from Olympic gold medalist Jonny Moseley and thought that was the coolest thing in the world.
He makes a delicious juice of carrot, apple, lemon and kale each morning for breakfast when he's home and he doesn't eat solid food until lunch. He favours holistic medicine, too.
He loves to turn up the music when a good song comes on in the car and he has dance parties with the kids.
He once tried to buy a bug collection for his ninth grade summer project and got busted by his Mom.
In the fourth grade his teacher finally told him: no more papers about golf.
He has an amazing sense of direction -- except in Miami which he refers to as his "Bermuda triangle."
He once hand-washed a courtesy car because it was too dirty.
He has never had an ATM card. He doesn't believe in them.
He was assistant coach on two of our kids' soccer teams this fall and loved it.
