US Q School for Irish 5




Stage one of the USPGA Q School is underway in the United States this week with five Irish players competing at Lantana, Texas, for a spot in the Second Stage next month. 


At the half way point Seamus Power is the best of the Irish challengers after a second round 69 left him on 3 under par for the two days. 

Mark Murphy was level on Wednesday with a total of one under par after his first round 71. 

Thomas Kearney finished day two on 71 and level par after an opening round of 73. 

Niall Turner improved on his 75 of Tuesday to finish level at the halfway stage but remains 3 over par. 

Fergal Rafferty is one under after signing for a one under par second round of 71.


The current leader is Shawn Stefani of Texas on 14 under after folllowing up on his first round 66 with a 64 on Wednesday. 


The 23 Qualifying Positions and Ties will advance to the Second Qualifying Stage.
