Simon Thornton of Team Ireland travelled to Vilmamoura in Portugal this week as a reserve for the Portugal Masters but on the eve of the tournament he seems now set to miss out on a place given no further withdrawals and with the pairings finalised for Thursday morning.
The Newcastle County Down resident was an entry for the Lexus Race to Mount Juliet in association with PING and Failte Ireland on Saturday - but will also miss that event following his trip to Portugal.
