The third round of the European Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 Section D was completed on Thursday at Wychwood Park in the United Kingdom and Circolo Golf Bogogno in Italy.
At Circolo Golf Bogogno Frenchman Julien Grillion shot 69 to join the overnight leader Italian, Marco Guerisoli, who carded a 71 for a 13 under par score and share of the lead after day three.
Marco Crespit is in second place on 11 under after a round of 68.
Spain’s Francis Valera is on 10 under following a 73 and fourth place.
Ireland’s Ruaidhri McGee signed for a second consecutive 69 to move up to 3 under and a share of 29th ahead of the final round on Friday. At Bogogno only the top 24 places [& ties] will qualify.
On Thursday only those players within 7 shots of the final qualifying place will go forward to contest the final round on Friday.
At Wychwood Park James Heath of England continues to lead on 7 under after carding a third round 71 for a two stroke lead from Tyrone Mordt of South Africa who signed for a 72.
Lloyd Saltman is in third place and one shot adrift on 4 under.
Brendan McCarroll is the leading Irish player after a round of 69 and moved up the leader board to 27th place on 2 over par.
Paul O’Hanlon signed for a round of 75 and dropped back to 3 over par and a share of 32nd place.
Dara Lernihan dropped to 6 over par after carding a of 75 - and inside the cut of +8.
Cian Curley fell back to +12 after the third round 75 and misses the cut.
David Rawluk who signed for a round of 76 finished the day three on +13 - also missing out on further action.
Cian Daly carded 81 and moved back to +15.
David Kernohan signed for a 77 to drop three more shots for a score of +20.
At Wychwood Park 98 players entered the event and the Stage 2 qualifiers will come from the first 23rd places [and ties]. For the final round on Friday all players within within 7 shots of the final qualifying place - 23rd and ties - will make the cut for the final round.
