Local Final Qualifying for the 2010 Open will be played on Tuesday June 29th 2010 at four courses in Scotland; Fairmont St Andrews, Kingsbarns Links, Ladybank and Scotscraig.
Seven Irish players will be making the trip in an effort to secure one of the last 156 places remaining for St. Andrews where the 150th Open Championship will be played from July 15-18th 2010.
The group includes Tim Rice and Cian McNamara of Limerick; Peter O’Keeffe of Douglas; Challenge Tour regular, Colm Moriarty of Glasson; John Dignam of Slade Valley and Patrick Devine of Royal Dublin.
Former European Tour card holder, David Higgins of Waterville, also travels hoping to match his effort last year when he qualified to play the Open on the Ailsa Course at Turnberry – but failed to make the cut by five shots after rounds of 73 and 75.
At the Regional Final Qualifying in Baltray recently Tim Rice, Cian McNamara, John Dignam and Patrick Devine earned their places after they finished in the top six at the County Louth Club.
