Edoardo Molinari says he has no intention of joining the PGA Tour in the United States in the foreseeable future.
The Italian had been expected to join Graeme McDowell and Robert Karlsson in taking up PGA Tour membership.
However, the 30-year-old Ryder Cup winner is not willing to commit to the extra three events he needs to take his quota up to the required 15.
"I just feel it's impossible to play 15 events on the PGA Tour as is required under their membership rules, along with the 20 that I want to play here on the European Tour," he said.
"I will play the Honda Classic, the Bay Hill Invitational because I played so well there last year in finishing second plus the Players Championship and the Memorial.
"It will mean that with those four events along with the WGCs and the Majors I will be playing 12 events that would count on the PGA Tour.
"But I am not prepared to play 15 and I can't see myself taking up membership in the future as I find the best way to prepare for the Majors and the WGCs is to be competing in Europe."
