Only nine holes were completed on Saturday at Costa Ballena Golf Resort after play was stopped due to heavy rain and so play will resume on Sunday morning.
On Friday Damian Mooney ended the best of the Irish contingent with a round of 70 and signing for a 2 under round on the opening day.
Niall Kearney, former Walker Cup player, was also in touch after a level par round for the day.
David Mortimer of FORE Ireland, winner of the Irish PGA Championship in September, signed for a three over par round of 75.
Michael Collins, a FORE Ireland team mate, was one shot adrift on 76 finishing on 4 over par.
Each 2nd Stage event will be contested over 72 holes of stroke play with 18 holes being played each day. There will be no cut during 2nd Stage, however, a competitor is entitled to withdraw at the conclusion of any round provided that notification is given before the close of play each day.
The exact number of qualifying places available at each venue will be calculated once the exact number of Second Stage participants has been calculated.
At European Tour Qualifying School last year Ireland had 6 representatives at the Final Stage at the PGA Catalunya in Girona with 10 players in all not progressing to the season finale.
