The second week of European Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 starts on Tuesday with Section B being hosted this week in Barbaroux Golf Club in France and Ebreichsdorf in Austria.
The players taking their place in France include Michael Mulryan Athenry Golf Club; Richard Kilpatrick, Banbridge Golf Club; Cian McNamara, Limerick GC; Byron Campbell, Malone Golf Club and Glen Robinson of St. Helen's Bay Golf Resort in Rosslare.
In Austria there are two Irish players competing, Justin Brink of Mieminger Plateau GC and Eamon Brady, of Clontarf Golf Club
It is anticipated that 310 participants will reach Qualifying School Stage 2, of which around 80 will progress to the Final Stage 3.
The leading 30 players (and ties) at the Final Stage will be eligible for Category 11 Membership of the European Tour for the following season. Players who finish below 30th place will be eligible for Category 14 Membership of the European Tour and Category 7 Membership of the Challenge Tour for the following season.
Players who miss the cut at the Final Stage will be eligible for Category 12 Membership of the Challenge Tour for the following season.
This year 47 Irish players registered for Qualifying School and only two made it through Section A last week at The London Club – Michael McGeady of McCambridge Duffy and Niall Turner of Muskerry Golf Club.
