Michael Collins of FORE Ireland secured a win at the Adare Manor Pro-Am on Sunday after carding a four under par round of 65 to hold off the challenge of Eoin O’Connor of Kilkenny Golf Club, Brendan McDermott of Castlecomer Golf Club and FORE Ireland team mate and 2010 Glenmuir PGA Champion, David Mortimer, all with 66.
Philip Walton and Mark Staunton of FORE Ireland signed for rounds of 71 to finish in a share of 20th place on two over par.
Ted Higgins, a late addition to the field following the withdrawal of his cousin David Higgins, carded a five over par of round of 75 for a tie of 32nd place. His Uncle Liam Higgins of Waterville signed for a 76

Michael Collins played in the 3 Irish Open for the first time in Killarney last month after qualifying in top eight players from 2009 Irish PGA Region Order of Merit. Last November Collins reached the European Tour Qualifying School Stage 2. The Mallow man will return to Q School Stage 1 at Dundonald Links September 14-17th seeking his Tour Card for next season.
