There are five Swedish players at the top of the leader board in round two of the Irish Open, led by Anna Nordqvist and Linda Wessberg on a 36-hole total of eight under par.
Nordqvist shot 67 at Killeen Castle this morning while Wessberg had a six under 66. They are one ahead of Ladies European Tour rookie Pernilla Lindberg who had a bogey-free 66, with the three-time Irish Open champion Sophie Gustafson and overnight leader Maria Hjorth both at six under after 12 holes along with South Korean In Kyung Kim.
Azahara Munoz had a round of 67 and finished at four under along with England’s Georgina Simpson, who shot 70, Meanwhile Kristy McPherson of the United States was at four under par as she made the turn.
At the end of today’s second round, there will be a cut to the leading 60 professionals and ties ahead of the final round at The 2011 Solheim Cup venue.
